Since teeth are both aesthetically and functionally important, all efforts are made in Holistic Dental Center to preserve them and avoid them being removed, but there are some cases that require eventual removal of the tooth.
Dental removal starts with local anesthesia of the tooth to be removed and the surrounding area. General anesthesia is used in cases of buried teeth or if more than one tooth are to be removed. There are many ways to remove teeth depending on position and dental circumstances. In the case of buried teeth, the dentist may need to perform cutting in the gums to facilitate the process of removal, and sometimes the tooth is sectioned into 2 or 3 pieces prior to taking out.
After removing the tooth, a piece of gauze is placed on the wound and it should be enough to stop the bleeding. Your dentist may sometimes need to stich the wound. The full recovery time may take about two weeks.
